Flap

Flies wings seem virtuous things
papery veils with veins seen
wholly flap at
speeds ludicrous
exceed the limitations
of gravity's dependancy
the velocity of a life
thrown like caution
to the winds come crawling
back to beat their brains
upon pained frames
and feint into the eight arms
of destiny's charms,
sleep in silk threads,
dream of dung
and wake up dead.

Insectivore

Call the po-lice
call your mother
there's a buzzing in the air
call to arms and legs
call cold and call out
call me cautious
call me your brother
there's a buzzing in the air
my hairs have turned
to gossamer wings
each follicle and aerofoil
vibrating at speeds
ridiculous my shirt lifts
off my body blown up
by fluttering buzzing skin
armpits in a mad dynamic
heating and cooling
pubis quilled and quivering,
legs in levitation what
clarity of thoughtlessness
propels my eyelashes
brows thrashing in
kazoo multiphonics
and my head -
oh my, oh my,
my head is a squadron
on the runway warming
engines preflight checks
chicken feed besides
a buzz-cut drone, head
of insectiverous hair
papery scales in
oscillations oh stand
off, stand back and
cleared for taking
I will not soar but
rather crash zoom and
hover landing upon a
floral bed to sip its
drenched and saccharine
health or else sting or bite
or cling to my vestigial sanity.
